Redland-Raised Persian Limes
Yep, this juicy bright beautiful lime is grown right here in Redland. Available year round.
Redland-Raised Carambola (Star Fruit)
Native to Southeast Asia. Harvested in Florida June-March. Typical size is 2-7 inches long. Allow fruit to ripen at room temperature until yellow color develops on inside of ribs, about two to five days. Flesh is yellow to golden yellow, crisp and sweet. May be eaten fresh or refrigerated for five to seven days in plastic bags. Good source of vitamins C and A, phosphorus and potassium. Use fresh and in fruit salads, desserts, sauces and wine. Available July to March.
Redland-Raised Avocado (West Indian)
Avocado varieties are classified in three groups, known as West Indian, Guatemalan and Mexican. West Indian avocados originated in the tropical lowland areas of southern Mexico and Central America, the Guatemalan and Mexican avocados originated in mid-altitude highlands in Guatemala and Mexico. Different varieties available from late May to March. Make sure you wait until your avocados are ripe. You can tell when you squeeze it and the skin is no longer firm, but rather soft to the touch. If you cut it open early it will be rubbery and have a bitter taste—be patient and remember it is fresh picked so takes a few days to ripen.
Redland-Raised Red or White Flesh Dragon Fruit (Depends on whats available that day of picking)
Dragon fruit is very attractive and has a mildly sweet taste with a wonderful texture similar to that of a kiwi fruit. The dragon fruit also known as pitaya or pitahaya is the fruit of several cactus species indigenous to the Americas."Pitaya" usually refers to fruit of the genus Stenocereus, while "pitahaya" or "dragon fruit" refers to fruit of the genus Hylocereus. Just cut in half and eat with a spoon, delicious with drizzled honey. Available July to November
Guavas are common fruits enjoyed in many tropical and subtropical regions. Guava fruits, usually 1.6 to 4.7 inches long, are round or oval depending on the species. The outer skin may be rough, often with a bitter taste, or soft and sweet. Varying between species, guava is usually green before maturity, but becomes yellow or maroon when ripe. The pulp inside may be sweet or sour and off-white ("white" guavas) to deep pink ("red" guavas). The seeds in the central pulp vary in number and hardness, depending on species.
The fruit is a large berry, around 1.6–3.1
