The 2019 season for Brewster Lychee should run between Mid June to Mid-July

The Brewster Lychee is a favorite among lychee connoisseurs. This wonderful tasting lychee has a beautiful red exterior, pinkish skin interior, has a deliciously sweet, white, juicy flesh and a medium sized seed. This variety was obtained from the Fujian province by Rev. W. M. Brewster and first propagated in Florida in 1903. This variety is also know as Chen Zi, Chen Tze, or Royal Chen Purple and is not typically available every season as it is inconsistent in yield year to year.

The lychee, also known as litchi, liechee, liche, lizhi or li zhi, or lichee. The fresh fruit has a "delicate, whitish pulp" with a floral smell and a fragrant, sweet flavor.

Fresh whole lychee contains a total of 72 milligrams of vitamin C per 100 grams of fruit, an amount representing 86% of the Daily Value. On average, consuming nine peeled lychee fruits would meet an adult’s daily vitamin C requirement but otherwise would supply little nutrient content. Lychees are low in saturated fat and sodium.
